Those brainwashed the most will be our biggest allies soon.
Going from believing your indoctrination to realizing for yourself that you've been lied to and you start questioning what you thought was reality in your world view is a painful experience.
First comes anger and cognitive dissonance as what you think is real vs what facts are telling you and then trying to prove those facts wrong while being sincere and honest about it is disturbing.
Next will come a bit of despair as you realize some facts can't be refuted and then a grasping at straws of information that might reinforce your ideas.
When that fails will come a slow acceptance and at the end you switch over to being an advocate for what you formerly vigorously refuted with implanted indoctrination and talking points.
I first experienced this with my own family's religion, then economics and finally politics as I became more aware of the constant push of propaganda starting in childhood education, in the entertainment and news media. Some of the indoctrination is subtle, such as weighted speech and visual cues inserted into movies, books, TV programs, advertisements and news and some is just in your face outright lying. Repeated often enough in talking points many people just accept the false reality as fact with out bothering to think things through or do a bit of critical thinking.
