I do not see myself getting The Shot: I am allergic. I am allergic to something that is said to be for my own good, but really does nothing. If I get The Shot, I can still get The Plague. I can still have The Plague, not know it or show any signs of having it, and still spread it. I would still have to muzzle up, still have to avoid other folks, still have to take all the unusual precautions. No one can tell me exactly what is in The Shot, but if I am allergic to any of the ingredients, I probably should not take it. And… No one is responsible if I have any troubles after taking The Shot, that is for my own good. Somehow, to my simple country boy mind, this just does not even pass the smell test. Yet folks are lining up in droves to get it. Is there some aspect of The Shot that I am missing?
