It's not masking up that bothers me. It's all the government mandates that included fines and threats of closure to force people into submission. It won't be this bad if there wasn't government intervention. They just threw around half assed statistics to scare people into complying, or their businesses were basically shut down. If there was no government intervention, people would have gone to establishments that had less restrictions, and the ones with more restrictions would have been forced to loosen up unless they wanted to keep losing customers. Since it was a blanket mandate, there was no alternative to businesses that were enforcing restrictions. Yes, some are truly naive in thinking they must wear the masks at all times, but a lot of the times people are wearing them out of convenience of not being threatened removal from the establishment. Instead of hating other unfortunate and powerless people, we must aim our frustration towards the government.
