  • He was arrested on Jan. 19 for his role at the insurrection
  • Jessica Watkins, 38, and Donovan Crowl, 50, were arrested on Jan. 18 in Ohio
  • Watkins is an Army veteran turned bartender; Crowl was in the U.S. Marines; both are said to also be in the Oath Keepers group

A 66-year-old Virginia man accused of being a leader of a paramilitary group that stormed the Capitol last month is a decorated Navy veteran and former FBI section chief who's had 'top secret security clearance' since 1979, his lawyers said Monday.

Thomas Caldwell, who federal prosecutors said holds a leadership role in the Oath Keepers, worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2009 to 2010 after retiring as a lieutenant commander from the Navy, his lawyer, Thomas Plofchan, wrote in a motion filed Monday.

The motion urged the judge to release Caldwell from jail while he awaits trial on federal charges of conspiracy to obstruct Congress, among other charges.

Oath Keepers charter is to encourage the police and any other governmental agency to uphold their oath to the laws of the land and the US Constitution.

The ADL, SPLC, and the criminals that run the government don't like oath keepers. Isn't that telling?

I don't know exactly what occurred, especially with the 100% disabled high ranking veteran, Thomas Caldwell, but I'm sure the story is much different than what the lying MSM is reporting. To get a disability of a 100%, I can assure you he wasn't forcing his way passed anyone. I'm rating the arrest as highly suspicious. Obama went after the oath keepers years ago. Friends, the enemy is not only within the gates, they are very entrenched and powerful.

Agree to a certain extent. The disability thing is weird. You can have several minor issues (such as hearing loss or sleep apnea) that on their own are like 10-30%, but add up to 100%. Somebody with even a limb amputation can have a lower disability rating than somebody with several minor problems but no drastic physical injuries.
