It seems odd to take AF-1, when Marine 1 directly from the WH could haul his ass up there almost as fast.

Why not go by helicopter or take a puddle jumper?

B752 is a Boeing 757-200 registration #09-0017 used as the call sign. Usually when president is onboard the call sign is AF1 www.planespotters.net/hex/AE4AEA
