We already know several presidents have sat in mock-up oval office studio for interviews. This has been occurring since JFK. Think about why this would actually be beneficial. One big benefit is maintaining electronic security at the White House. Why would anyone responsible for maintaining security at the White House allow a bunch of reporters and their camera crews in the official White House oval office? My hunch is you wouldn't want that. It's better to have a mock-up oval office somewhere else. Do you recall when Trump remodeled the White House? You betcha he located and ripped out all the electronic 'bugs' in the White House.
