Have you actually checked this and done it?

No, not this one - I got rid of what little G data I had a few years ago.

Is what they suggest not working?

No, haven't done it yet. I don't use gmail but thought this would be applicable re: my "installed" search engine that I used for quite a few years. Just wanted to know if it was safe to do this. :/

Looking at it, I don't see anything that would make it unsafe. It looks a lot faster than what I did - Seemed like it took me about a whole day there were so many menus within menus - and, like I said, I never had much on there to begin with. Mostly what I remember is sending a very nasty note to them afterwards about it - probably considerably lowered my social credit score - haha.
