I'll agree with you about what you sayJFK did, but I would still argue the immigration has been one of the most destructive actions in our history.
I think I did see ARGO. However, I strongly caution you against thinking Hollywood reflects reality. Granted, there can be truths to learn in movies, but they are designed to program you. I listened to a friend assume what he saw on a movie with fact. (Granted, the movie was billed as a dramatization of an event, but, there was no reason to assume accuracy.)
I watched the hostages being released during the inauguration. There is no way that could've been coincidence; thus, it was collusion with a foreign power, against a sitting POTUS. This is plain as day.
Even the mere activity "Reagan got them out." would've been illegal. They were released as he wqs being sworn in as POTUS. How could it have been proper to take action to get them out before he took office?
Rmember the Iran-Contra scandal? Money for hostages?
Carter did not do simply leave them to rot as you state. He sent in a rescue mission. It failed, but at least an attempt was.made. Carter also kept them in the public awareness; implying he forgot them is absurd.
