OK but what if you don't "follow" anyone?

Interesting .. I only follow a few 'living' people but I'll unfollow the celebs today!

Unfortunately, unless the Liberals also get on board, most will still have mega-followers.

They're all technically currently living, just not in your time and space. Only follow people you've met a few times and you both wouldn't mind continue meeting them in the future. Why follow someone who doesn't even know you exist? Might as well follow a ghost then.

A lot of the pages/"users" that I follow are HUMOR groups. I don't know the "owner" but I still follow him/her because the content is funny.

I follow (past tense now!) a few celebs because I liked the shows/movies that they starred in.

I think this is a very good idea. She needs to say celebrities and other so called elite. The celebrities practically live and die based on their followers.

This needs to be seen

Hope you don't mind

I agree with this. Unfollow them all.

I've never had a social media account to begin with so I've never followed a single person. Fedbook? nope. Twitter? nope. instagram? nope.. nothing. Name a current "celebrity" and there is a 97.9% chance I have never even heard of them. Who am I?

I am skel. I am from the future, where celebrity worship is obsolete.

Why do people follow the lives of people they don't even know and they'll never get to know? It's like following a random person living on the other side of the planet.

You'll never meet all 8 billion people in the world. Cherish the select few people you meet in your day to day life, like your family and long time friends. That'll have a greater positive impact on your life.
