I had no idea. Stop forcing your kids to drink milk.

Monsanto & Cancer Milk: FOX NEWS KILLS STORY & FIRES Reporters

Milk

“the biggest irony is that milk is thought to increase calcium LOSS from our bones.”

“the pasteurization process destroys a majority of enzymes and vitamins and minerals.”

“Cows are given antibiotics and injected with rBGH, a genetically engineered Bovine Growth Hormone, which is a synthetic hormone that was created to artificially increase milk production. A frightening side effect of rBGH is an increase in IGF-1 (insulin growth factor), which has been linked to many cancers.”

“Milk increases the risks of respiratory conditions and allergies. It has been linked to the development of arthritis due to joints becoming inflamed.”

“I cannot conclude this article without referring to the fabulous documentary Forks Over Knives. It unravels and discovers the truth that many degenerative diseases, cancers, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart disease are linked to diets high in animal protein, such as meats and dairy.”

I am a milk drinker, I usually have it in my coffee and with every meal. A large local dairy processor here does not use milk from cows with added hormones and their milk tastes far better than the bigger names like Hood and others that do not make that claim. I've consumed the local dairy milk most all of my fairly long life. It is pasteurized, I prefer the 1%-1½% milkfat versions. Monsanto, the hormone producer, sued the local processor to remove the "No Added Hormones" from its labeling in 2003, and that failed.

I have very strong bones, no arthritis, no cancer, no issues, not on any medications. Knock on wood. Love a tall, cold glass of milk!

Yup, it's not milk. It's the stuff they inject into and feed the cows.

You are lucky to have access to "organic milk".

The difference in flavor/texture is palpable. I've had the hormone version, texture is like it was watered down, flavor tastes like it's already been in the fridge a couple of weeks. Yuk. I wouldn't be a milk drinker if I had to drink that crap.

Idaho and a few other states allow sales of raw milk. The dairy is close by and does direct sales. I have no symptoms of lactose intolerance from the raw milk. I pour off the cream for beverages and recipes. It helps my joints and bones. The cows are treated like queens and eat pasture grass. Eggs are local too.

If you can afford it , buy Organic milk which does not contain antibiotics and hormones. And organic milk comes from cows that are grass fed, not fed on grains and corn. Cows evolved eating grass, and the milk actually tastes much better than non-organic milk.

Raw, unpasturized, non-homogenized milk is even better for you - it contains all the vitamins and minerals that it had coming out of the cow, plus immunoglobulins. There are 13 states that now "allow" the sale of raw milk (how ridiculous that we have gotten to the point where our government feels we are better off with them telling us what we can and can't put in our mouths). That's the only milk I drink now, since it does not cause lactose intolerance - because another thing it stillhas is the enzyme lactase.

Exactly the reason I love raw milk, no lactose problems. I make simple cottage cheese from it.

I'll see if I can buy raw milk where I live. Thank's for the tip.

States that allow raw milk to be sold in any retail store: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Washington.

This is a huge improvement. Only 7 or so years ago it was only California and Connecticut. I don't have further details, but I'm sure more specific info is out there. I'm in California, and have been buying raw milk from the few stores that carry Organic Pastures, which seems to have changed its name recently to plain old Raw Milk. Hope this helps.
