The health dept is doing them a big favor. There is nothing but shit on TV anyway. Maybe people will learn to talk to each other again. Most likely the idiots will go back to staring at their phones and ignoring their dinner companions.

A friend who is a fan of NFL just last night pointed out to me that this is all about preventing restaurants from displaying the playoffs to customers. As we all know, restaurants pay a huge fee to display the playoffs to customers so they can come, eat, drink and be together to watch the playoffs.
When he pointed this out my mouth dropped open in surprise. He has a very valid point.
Notice, in summer when eating outdoors is fun, they suddenly realized that restaurants were again making money so they banned it. Finally, realizing that no one wants to eat outdoors in the cold, they said, ok, it's fine again, you can do this. Then, realizing restaurants might have their outdoor venues packed with people watching the playoffs, they suddenly banned restaurants from showing tv.
