Look for a conspiracy proof someplace else. I served in The Old Guard for three years, this is clearly an Army General in overcoat. He is dressed as per regs. He directs them down the stairs and all in all does his job properly. Considering OPSEC, if they are trying to maintain the semblance of order, why would The Old Guard be directed to do things outside of the regs? It doesn’t make sense that the 21-gun salute would be done improperly, soldiers throwing their covers on the ground, etc. I literally promise you that these things are not signs of something else. Use your time chasing other leads that might have importance.

Rank is worn on the shoulder boards/epaulets on that coat. Its too blurry to see in the twitter pic. That could be anybody, sure, but there's so many generals in the army, and there'd be high percentage of them clamoring to stand up there, so there would definitely be a general up there for the ceremony. Army generals jack off to ceremony.

where is the rank, not the medals. AR670-1 will tell you all about the overcoat. if I remember correctly 20-19 , where are the shoulder boards ? the rest is correct. appears rank is missing. I just asked where is the rank.
