They call this predictive programming.
There's a couple of parts to this:
The religious aspect involves the practice of occult ritual magic, and the belief that if you create an image, or representation of that which you want to become reality, that will assist you in making it into reality. Not unlike the voodoo doll. You cast a spell. Also something about a rule of magic that you have to warn the victim first or the spell will not work, something like that - it's Alister Crowley occult type stuff that practicing Satanists believe is real. Thus you see a lot of TV shows that prescript events that are then replicated later on as if they are real. These are false flag events. They make the real event happen.
Another part of the programming is to present the plan or idea in fictional media so as to soften up the general population, or program them, so that when the variation of the actual event occurs, it becomes more believable to the normies. The school shootings, for example, are almost entirely false flag operations, that have been used repeatedly to condition the public into believing there are random crazed mass shooters around every corner, attacking schools, malls, etc, and that such occurrences are just another part of everyday society. They create the shooters deliberately. A combination of drugs and hypnosis, under the supervision of psychiatrists. It's state sponsored, but also corporate sponsored. This technology has been around since at least the 1960's. Military grade stuff.

Netflix is under CIA/ leftist/ occultist/ satanist/ socialist control, (it is all the same thing.) It has become a tool used for the purpose of predictive programming of the population. It is also used for brainwashing the population in general. Pushing themes of faggotry, pedophilia, race mixing, etc.
Sociology and Psychology are two of the most advanced and highly weaponized sciences known to humanity. Television and media is the greatest propaganda weapon ever devised. Predictive programming is one of the most powerful tools used in the arsenal. Propaganda was already super powerful back in the 1940's. They've had 80 years to refine and advance the science since then. The research budget for this science is basically unlimited, and the resources deployed at Universities often occupy upwards to 25% of the entire staff and facilities.
I truly believe what you said here. The reality we create are not unlike what we were programmed to believe through various media. People downplay the power of the media saying "I know they're sometimes fake" or "I know they're sometimes biased", but their brains have already accepted the fake reality they saw through the manipulated TV as their de facto reality, resulting in the emotional responses that were elicited from the storylines.
We create our own reality, and accepting the fake narrative of the reality that someone else provides you literally makes you dumber. You're putting yourself that much further behind on understanding the true nature of the reality.
If only people truly understood the power that they have inside of their minds, they wouldn't waste time taking in the garbage that they see on TV all the time.
Yup, and it helps to get rid of the TV.

I was staying in a hotel a couple of years ago, and found the TV with the 1000 channels to be unwatchable.
That's just how much people are programmed these days.
