I've thought of a way this could be a bad thing, it might be payment for the cooperation of a good person, for those who genuinely care for the well-being of children, they might show children in torment to them and say "do X and we save them from this, refuse and it gets worse for them". Kind of like the reverse for the strategy they take for those who get off on children being hurt, where they give them the privilege of hurting children, than blackmail them with the evidence (ad their media companies telling people it's okay to consider this as a thing you can get angry at the guy over).
The opinion of the people does not matter, especially in a democracy, most of us wanted Trump to be president, most of us wanted mass-immigration to not come to our countries, the policies of government does not correlate with the desires of the voters, but with the desires of the wealthy elites among that population, the corrupt members of government own the counter of the votes and the courts used to investigate claims of fraud, and thee evil assholes don't give a fuck about the truth or what's right.
