The correct response to irrational statements of impending doom is skepticism. Such is how we should have responded to WuFlu.

The correct response to rational statements, presented with evidence, of impending disaster is to take heed and work to mitigate the disaster. Today such statements are censored from the public debate and such evidence is suppressed. The effect is to maximize the damage done by the disaster.

Those who suppress the information are our enemies.

Those who speak the truth are our allies.

I've noted since the swine flu, when a novel virus is discovered the global response is thoroughly inadequate. The immediate response should be to stop travel to impacted areas to attempt containment while the first attempts to study to determine virulance. Then reasonable and appropriate steps can be taken while minimizing spread. That only seems rational.

To OP, this is why we must collectively stop attempting datefagging and call out anyone who does, EVEN with a compelling argument. Any date obvious to us would be obvious to the bad guys.
