Act of 1871, is suspect as to whether it's just a title for local government, or indeed changed america into a corporation. Regardless, it's fascinating to look into, and the year 1871 which I handwrote a sort of experimental book on was full of many interesting events that birthed the modern world.
I'm not sold one way or the other on the meaning of the act, but it should be looked at skeptically, keeping in mind the Albert Pike letter to Mazzini in the same year is believed to be a forgery, using many terms that wouldn't be around for decades.
Still, that's quite something that they're trying to memory hole it.
