If he is legitimately hoodwinked? Maybe he really believes this guy. Hell maybe the guy is telling the truth.
But my main question anyway is, assuming he thinks the stuff is all real, why would he sit on it for so long? It seems cruel to the victims.

Dunno...maybe the guy didn't want to come forward sooner. There's much we don't know.
