Yeah that's a fair assumption. No disagreement there. I'm certian not much will happen 2 him. His followers that he sold down the river on the other hand. Unfortunately, likely, won't be so fortunate.
I don’t think he sold out or made a deal for his safety, just by the position he held and the situation of things at the time of his presidency gave him the opportunity and ability to learn and possess dark information on the most powerful people in the world. He has incredible leverage on people that hate him which will keep them in place when it comes to taking any action against him or his family. This is how the Clintons gotten away with so much crime and now have amassed great wealth. This is what made Hoover last so long as director of the FBI.
But I agree with you in that his followers, myself included, aren’t as fortunate and will have to suffer in one way or another for our stance.
