You are not exaggerating. FULL of mil planes.
It’s like somebody threw up skittles on a map of the U.S...
First time looking at that map...how much more traffic than usual?
Normally much more sporadic and regional than this, and about half as many, ish
Thx for the info, interesting
There were 21 tankers up about 2 hours ago... if each services 10 fighters, WTF are 200 fighters doing up over the CONUS?
They don't only service fighters, they can refuel many different planes if the need arises
We're probably spending a few dozen million every second for this setup right now
I've watched as they filled up DC....this is like 200% more
Ok that gives me a reference point, so this is a butt load for a normal day
And, these are just the ones that are showing.
I know nothing about plane movement. It's what I like about sites like this. And every other site that got shut down. Some people are very savvy and track this. So, this morning I zoomed way out and based on this map the USA is COVERED with planes. I ask this seriously, is this in any way normal? I've have never seen this level of plane cover but I do not track this.
Yes, the USA has an immense number of aircraft in the air at any one time, especially during the daytime. Most are commercial jets, small commuter planes, and private planes. A few are military. The military, as I understand, are not required to operate their ADSB transponders while they are on a mission that requires secrecy.
