Back when I was a kid in school and college I worked for my builder/developer dad every vacation starting when I was old enough (mid-1970s) and his crew took lunchbreak from noon to 12:30 before resuming work. We ALWAYS tuned the old, beat up AM/FM radio into Paul Harvey for the full show. It all sounded like common sense to me at the time. Paul Harvey was so elegant in articulating his patriotic thoughts to the common man, he was a cross between the Patriotism of Rush Limbaugh and the nostalgia of The Saturday Evening Post 5 times a week. Every time I hear someone mention Paul Harvey, it immediately takes me back to my roots of understanding conservatism.
Harvey wasn't the only one. Cleon Skousen was prophetic as was Father Coughlin. It was a gestalt of every thing occurring during that era that led to their prescient insights.
