Give it up, you’re not being the ultimate patriot by not divulging the fact that C17 is a cargo plane, this is pretty much common knowledge. Just like everyone who watches news can identify a B2 stealth bomber and stealth fighter, no top secret. Also, no big deal to point out a cargo plane left Fort Drum and landed in DC. What you don’t want out there and should do your best keeping it a secret is that air craft carriers have planes on them.

C usually means cargo. Depending on the size depends on the cargo.

It's pretty much a cargo plane but it also transports personnel. I and some other Marines flew on one instead of commercial when traveling in Japan from mainland to the island of Okinawa. I'm pretty much saying that it could be personnel, equipment, or both.
