"In the New Testament, the word “Amen” transcribed from Hebrew into Greek, is used the same way as in Psalms to end blessings and prayers. But there is one more use – but only by Jesus himself. Whenever Jesus says “truly I say to you,” the original Greek actually uses the Hebrew word Amen – “Amen I tell you.”

Could not post the forbidden link from which the below two quotes were derived even after several attempts to disguise the link:

“We ask it in the name of the monotheistic God, Brahma, and God known by many names by many different faiths. Amen and a-woman.” --Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat.

“Amen” is a Biblical Hebrew word: אמן. It is a word simply meaning “may it be so.” It has nothing to do with the word “man” or “woman” because it is FROM HEBREW. This is some of the dumbest s** I have ever seen in my life." — Ben Shapiro () January 4, 2021*

We all know that democrats and leftys (but I repeat myself) are all stupid as hell, so I simply posted this for two reasons: One, in order to beat the dead horse about that fact that dims are idiots and fun to laugh at, and two, because I didn't know the true etymology or origin of a word I have used most of my life.

Appreciate the research.

I will only append this: then one looks to the "spirit" of a thing, so in this instance WHY was such a thing spoken??

That is key at this crucial juncture. We can parse it out, the etymology and the exegesis including the times and culture of those times. But as to its contemporary application and use. This is bald-faced use of a word to TWIST it to make pc points and to continue the warfare of pressing upon US the despising of God/Christ Jesus and of the very foundations of THIS Nation.

No im not barking at you. I am sounding about the motivation of this amen and awoman BS. I have been formerly on enough paths that i recognized IMMEDIATELY the use of the word Brahma, and the spoken "prayer" which lauds EVERY path but that in Christ Jesus.

Whew.

By [their] words ye shall know [them] for the words spoken are auditory fruit of [their] work/intended goal. I will not say stupid, these folks in high places, so to speak, know EXACTLY what [they] are doing and for what ends. Be warned, people.

Very well spoken. The key to understanding Scripture is researching the etymology of the words. As I've gotten older, I've watched how Bibles are being published where the changing of the words and their meaning, along with entire elimination of words, are being made. This seems to be increasing.

I'll provide one interesting example. The pre-1964 Jerusalem bible is the only bible that translates Isaiah 34:14 using the demi-goddess name -- "Lilith" in the text. You'll find that all Masorete texts (protestant bibles) have taken this out. Even the New Jerusalem Bible has done the same. The KJV uses the words "screech owl". But, if you look this up in Strong's Concordance reference (H2917), there the word Lilith is found and it's meaning.

Now, why would that word be hidden from us? It appears to be because it provides us insight to valuable history that 'certain' entities may not want us to know. The effect of erasing history is so that it is repeated. The story of Lilith, according to the alphabet of ben sira: the source of the famous "first Eve" story tells us where this story derives. The excerpt from the prologue to Epic of Gilgamesh contains what may be the earliest reference to Lilith or to one of her predecessors. Where else do you find the story of Lilith? You find it in the Jewish Midrash, Babylonian Talmud. In "The Encyclopaedia of Religion" Lilith is identified in Judaism as a female demon who seduces men and kills unsuspecting children. In the Babylonian Talmud Lilith is portrayed as havinga woman's face, long hair ('Eruv. 100b), and wings (Nid. 24b) like the cherubim. Her identity as demon is underscored in Bava' Bashtra' 73a, referring to the demon Hormiz or Ormuzd as Lilith's son, and in Shabbat 171b, where men are warned against sleeping alone lest they be seized by Lilith.

Make of this as you will. This belief was very popular during Isaiah's time. And I believe the promotion of it today and its worship is far more pervasive than people realize. What was practiced then is being practiced today. Who is behind it all?

ThanQ, anon. Noting the time taken for you to reply and holding forth on "Lilith".

Of course we do know 'who" is behind anything that is against God (not the million small "g's", whom this decaying culture is FOR).

I have observed a definite uptick in the culture extolling all things Lilith and otherwise. It has become "hip" and "the thing to do" in some circles. Lilith will likely hold a high position in the pantheon of woke god/goddesses. Plainly spoken, i have observed/heard some pretty bizarre s__t.

Anything and everything is being pushed to undermine what is wholesome and in God's ordained order of things. Many of those people "into" the old gods (and i suspect many are fallen angels/demonic) have no idea what they are playing with. No "light" matter. (pun intended). They are as sheep to be sheared, not realizing how much they poison their own well. Romans 1:18-32 puts forth very well what has become the popular tune of the day.

This will only increase as the Day draws near. In the meantime, with all else that will be coming our way it will require all the more that we become wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Some things we need not expose ourselves to: to not even speak of those things which are done by them in secret. Some people will bear the burden of exposing types of abuse and lawlessness, but that is a matter of assignment and a different topic. Not areas in which to dally unwisely. I have been assigned other areas, i will leave it at that.

I agree with you concerning this not being spoken of and hidden from view, but it can be on two fronts. One being that unholy curiosity can dredge up things to bring one to temptation or deception, like sticking a toe in the deep waters to test it out. The second is that the devil would LOVE that we believe that he does not exist.

What a conundrum. Here is where discernment is most necessary. I have learned i cannot just say anything to anybody. Access to information incurs responsibility in the one who seeds it out and the one who receives it. As has been posted by Q: some of this information would land folks in the hospital. Heh, no doubt.

I hope this remained relatively cogent. A lot of stuff in my head, and much of it coming to surface with present events. Three ring circus is an understatement. But i sleep well at night, knowing that God has got it. In the meantime, we will work while it is still day.

Godspeed.

The "Amen" and "Awoman" was the cringiest pandering I've seen in a while.

I know, right... Friggin democrats.

The level of preposterous ignorance is becoming mind boggling. To suggest that "Amen" has gender associated with it is laughable. Yet, here we are living in a surreal world of dystopian stupidify.

I recall a congressman who used the word -- "niggardly" in his congressional speech. The Black caucus soon became enraged and called for the congressman's head. The congressman tried in vain to explain the meaning of the word, but it only enraged them more. If I recall it, he genuflected and 'apologized' for using the word "niggardly", which means "reluctant to give or spend; stingy; miserly."

A word to the wise. Next time a black person is being frugal with his money don't describe him as being niggardly with his money.

Run proper etymology your position is left wanting

Funny thing, I just watched an episode of the Waltons. Grampa Walton said a grace at dinner and ended it with Amen and Awoman. So weird with what this is about. Thank you for the enlightenment.

No shit? Never saw that. I guess Hollywood has been pandering to certain groups for longer than I thought...
