i think that's the goal, in terms of optics. Make it look like all the new found alt right terrorism is causing an increase in security spending. Except we dont do stuff, at least rationale people dont base their opinions on what ifsms. In the eyes of liberals, the idea of what if this happens is a valid justification for action, even when no action is required. This leads to a bunch of issues because what if can encompanss many situations, however this does not mean any of them are rooted in reality
