This makes NO sense. This looks like the mall is being set up for thousands of visitors. We were told there were to be very FEW because the event was to be VIRTUAL. EXACTLY what is going on here?? Perhaps it's the location set aside for 20,000 soldiers....or at least those who are not on duty? Anybody?

POSSIBLE ANSWER: I was just listening to a DC news conference from much earlier today where someone from the mall/parks department was participating. He said that in response to people requesting space to 'protest' there are areas fenced off and deemed '1st Amendment' sections to accommodate them. But those spaces would hold a heck of a lot of people.
