1: Gmail was having an all-out again this morning, although it's back now.

2: There were an unusual number of utility trucks out in my area this morning. Normally I'll see one or two (maybe) at 5AM, but today there were knots of them in multiple places, across multiple utilities.

While gmail is probably nothing because Google is becoming shit at managing their services, the sheer number of trucks out so early was interesting.

What part of the country are you in? There is a winter storm going through my area which might explain. Maybe they were expecting storm related trouble?

There's some minor miserable weather predicted for this weekend, we're currently getting some spitting snow and rain. No accumulation is expected, and temps are supposed to be >freezing all weekend.

They may have just been taking advantage of the relatively nice winter morning...

Where are the trucks; what region are you?

Trucks were everywhere, even on the quiet side roads I travel to get to work.
