US Marshalls do sometimes provide security, but to witnesses and judges. Never heard of them doing this for politicians. Implies one of three things:
- She's a witness to a crime
- She's being arrested / transported
- She does not trust the Capitol Police and/or Secret Service, and has pulled strings to get the Marshals to provide security
None of these situations seem normal of course. Something is up.
UPDATE -- looks like a SS badge. See here:
Not even close, the blonde agent up front right has a badge that is solid blue inside the inner circle with gold emblem inside the solid blue . It is a US Marshall Service badge, the blonde rear right is Capitol Police with solid gold emblem in the inner circle of the badge. Neither of those badges looks remotely like the Secret Service badge.
I agree now, not SS. Here's the highest-resolution close-up that I could find:

IMO they don't look like matches for any of the badges that I or you or others have linked to on this thread so far. However, if you zoom in, you can fairly clearly see the capitol building. There's way more blue in the women's badges than the CP badge I (and others) linked though. So I'm now thinking they are both different variations on the current CP badge. Not SS but also not Marshals. I will keep looking.
