It's not just social media, it's the internet as a whole. TCP/IP was fucked in the ass to begin with concerning security and most sites have some form of tracking for these various companies. Now if you disable the scripts it breaks the website since most everything is based on google's APIs. You can mitigate this to a degree but the idea that you have privacy online is a fantasy.
