FYI - I received a cancellation notice for my pre-paid lodging reservation to stay at a property in Arlington, VA for the Inauguration (assuming it would be TRUMP) on dates Jan. 19-21. I thought staying in VA would be less risky, but apparently the lock-down spreads out wider than DC itself. At least I'm getting refunded though, so that's a plus.

But there goes any hope of getting to witness POTUS being re-inaugurated and taking part in that historic event. :-( Wonder if my flights will also be cancelled. They're non-refundable flights, so I'm screwed if the airline themselves doesn't cancel them.

Here's the exact language from my cancellation notice:

"In response to local, state and federal officials asking people not to travel to the Washington, D.C., metro area during the inauguration, we are canceling reservations in the area and will not be accepting any new reservations at this time."

Business leaders have a fiduciary duty ro maximize profit. This is being ignored widely.

This is probably the most telling sign of what is going on.

"To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th." - DJT

How intense do you think it will get here, bro? ---the east coast of Canada is under martial law

Quebec is under curfew, not Martial Law. Here on the west coast in Vancouver, the government is pretty relaxed about enforcing COVID orders and only the businesses owned by big corps are strict about wearing masks.

I think the s might h the f in DC on the 20th with arrests at the inauguration.

curfew is one cunt hair away from martial law, let's not get it twisted

Even if it would be Biden taking the oath on Jan. 20th, I would have still gone on my trip and waved Trump signs around (if there was a large pack of us who stuck together, of course). Now I won't even get the chance to do that either. But that could get me pounced on or killed, so I guess it's for the best. I'd never want to be in the way of a military op to give them more things to worry about (civilians' safety concerns), so let 'em have at it without innocent by-standers thrown in the mix. Cool with me. God bless our soldiers!

I bought all my travel long before POTUS said he wasn't going to the Inauguration. But even with him saying that (after the fact), I figured that statement could just be a 'head fake' anyway. Was still holding out hope that things would change and he'd be taking the oath again on Jan. 20th. But I guess it's for the best since DC will be a hot bed for precarious situations during that time, so it would be best to avoid the area then. Still really bummed about it though. :-(

They're closing down all the hotels, from what I heard.

AirBnB made a public statement the other day that they've canceled all their DC area reservations for Inauguration week too. Wish the damn airlines would CANCEL my DC flights for the Inauguration (that was SUPPOSED to be for Trump) so I could get a refund instead of me cancelling them. If I cancel my DC flights, I won't be able to get a refund - only credit towards future flights. The bastards!

Are we heading to global martial law?.....?

Could be, but my guess is that Martial Law (if declared) would be more likely to just be localized in the 'affected cities' - such as capitols (including all 50 state capitols where the MAGA impersonating/Antifa-contrived "armed protests" are supposed to be happening) and maybe locations where traitors and perpetrators of crimes against humanity would be getting snatched. Pure speculation though.

I'd think that the good guys would prefer to NOT traumatize/scare the masses by having a nationwide Martial Law style lock-down, but it may be necessary to ensure public safety and to maybe stop all forms of travel (thus cutting off escape routes for the bad guys).

No idea what percentage of the U.S. population has ever actually experienced "Martial Law" but I can share my personal experience with it. I was living in W. Los Angeles during the Rodney King riots and it was a friggin' TERRIFYING scene. When they enacted Martial Law and curfews the military got all that shit under control quickly, and I was soooooo grateful!

Lucky for me, I lived across the street from a military base and soldiers on foot patrol all around the perimeter of the base would watch over me when I needed to walk my dog at night. I wasn't scared or traumatized by the Martial Law aspect whatsoever; I was scared and traumatized by the horrific violence against innocent citizens just because they were white.

And this violence wasn't just taking place in the ghetto areas like Compton - it was all over L.A. - all the way into the Santa Monica area where I lived off Wilshire less than a mile from the beach. Usually race-based rioters just burn down the shitty neighborhoods, but that rioting sitch was county-wide and reached well into the suburbs and nicer neighborhoods throughout West L.A. too.

Shit! ya, I remember the LA riots--I used to watch it everyday in the summer on tv--me and my friend would come inside on a hot summer day get a cool drink watch the riots for a bit--then go back outside--we did that all summer haha I was in grade 5

Good question.

Thank you, what are your thoughts on this---not much going on here on the west coast of Canada---just the usual wear a mask bullshit

We are pretty bored here in Southern California, too - something I never thought anyone would ever be able to say - but we are blessed with awesome, righteous Sheriffs where we live, who refuse to arrest people over mask infractions. God bless them!

If so, not for long, civilian laws are becoming sufficiently draconian.

Unfortunately, I think it could go either way. Either the subjugation of the American right is going to happen so quickly that we will not have time to plan how to defend ourselves, OR, Q and Q+ knew (know) what they are about. Sure hoping it's the latter.
