Crazy right. We don’t. But when the Memphis bomb knocked out ou comms for 4 days I looked into a landline in case we needed the fire department. It’s switching from copper to fiber optic next month, so no need. Whe power goes out, fiber goes out.

Even if you have a dead cell phone the 911 emergency # can be dialed. iPhone or whatever. It works

Nope. We had zero cell service. Could not dial 911. ATT cell towers in my area were not sending or receiving signals. Nothing. You’re right that if you don’t pay your bill and your service provider “turns off your phone”, you can still dial 911...provided that your phone can connect to a tower.

I got a report from an employee that the EBS message went out. Did you get it? what did it say? edit..

what I was sent... A screen shot. Source is suspect.

"Homeland Security is preparing to mobilize the National Guard. Preparing to dispatch them across the US along with military. They will also call in first responders.

They are preparing to announce a nationwide 2 week Quarantine for all citizens, all businesses closed.

Our emergency sirens just went off in kc mo.

They tested them last Wednesday (1st we’d every month), so it’s really odd they went off again this afternoon.

Code Red is for local emergency notification, tornado, severe weather. They test the system. Highly doubt it is related to Trump.

No one else is talking about it on any of the other usual forums. There are a bunch of search engine hits on CR tests in 2020, 2019, etc. Quite a few mentions when searching anon forums. Doesn't seem all that unusual.

Anyone else get it outside of KS?

I thinks it’s just the local version of EBS, but also pushes alerts for EBS.
