Magnetic north has been shifting for years, last I heard it was just off the coast of Russia, from a map's perspective if looking at the US, magnetic north has traveled east and south and has picked up speed in recent years.
What he said. That is why we would get updated maps and approach plates, etc. on a regular basis. I did read about a year or two ago that the drift had picked up speed, but not that fast. If it really gets going, that would be an indication of a possible polar reversal.
