The Alamo was a stop gap giving Sam Houston time to get his patriots ready shaping them into an army! We are that army today we just past the Alamo when will the major battle begin?

Exactly.....by about a week before the end, the people in the Alamo had already received word that their mission was to delay Santa Anna as long as possible to give the troops at Goliad more time to assemble, but at the end, they were all going to die. That's why the line in the sand was done by Travis--to allow anyone who was not on board with the mission to leave.
