There are rumors of the internet and TV stations going down, and possible "darkness" which may be power outages in random locations. We need to be able to find out the news, and I'm guessing the AM/FM radio stations will still be broadcasting. Possibly even Voice of America.

Actually WLW 700 in Cincy is a powerhouse station on the AM dial. Indy has one as well WIBC 93.3 FM. I sometime try to get Chicago, I think it's WLS.

Get a SW radio Here is a guide to the division of the frequency tuning ranges. You can get news from other countries. https://www.dxing.com/tuning.htm

I have a wi-fi radio, but it probably won't help when the internet goes down.

VOA is cucked. They don't transmit to the USA directly anymore.

WLW 700 Cincinnati is cucked too, but is required to be on the air in the event of any disaster (including nuclear war) until the fuel runs out for the generators.

Get a boafeng radio. A decent prices one is the uv-5r. They are UHF/VHF radios. They have radios built into them as well that you can listen to. You can also listen to things such as the weather alerts. You don't need a license for them due to their low power. You can scan for signals broadcasting. That way you can find people transmitting. If we all decided to use one channel to transmit we can pass info on them. They can transmit for miles and miles. You can charge in your house or car or using solar panels or by USB if you have the adapter.

That sounds like a good idea, if everyone owned one to dodge comm blackouts

Yep another guy told me you can somehow hook it up to your internet connection to broadcast off repeaters to go farther as well. They are very versatile. I have a lot of them in different models for my family. The model I recommended is easy to operate, economical, works well, and durable. Worth the 25 bucks you will pay. You should definitely buy the extra charging adapters to charge via USB and using the cigarette lighter in a vehicle. I have a lot of the solar panels and most of the small travel ones charge usb so they charge them easily. Make sure you are prepared. This will help you out. Being able to pick up radio stations as well as channels that others are transmitting on is amazing. It has hundreds and hundreds. It also has a built in flashlight, battery save mode, scrambler, high capacity ion battery, fm/am radio, long standby time, and is an awesome long range comm device.

Another is the simple CB radio.

Why? The Jews own them all too duuuh!

I kept hearing to get a CB radio, so I did. Bought a handheld one that's just a bit bigger than a walkie talkie and got an expandable telecoping antenna for it. Can receive NOAA station as well as talk to others who have CB's within a limited radius. I'm sure it's REALLY limited inside a major metro area. But it's better than nothing, I suppose.

Why so you can take them down too? Fuck you line drawn motherfuckers
