Due to massive waves of censorship right now, see drop #2168. Then consider bookmarking the updated emergency comms URL https://8kun.top/patriotsfight/catalog.html in case it is needed. You will get a e0001 error but once/if the board is activated, that will go away. We aren't be sure if Q will revert to this. This notice is just a preemptive precaution.

I bought a couple of “Authentic Genuine Nagoya NA-771 15.6-Inch Whip” antennas. But since we are usually using them around the farm here, the stock antennas they come with work fine for us. I’ve tested the big whips and can get 5 miles in hilly terrain on a GMRS frequency.

I have the same..F8HP's with the NA-771 antennas. Just got a mag base for the truck with a cable... Haven't had a chance to test distance with it yet, but the 771's work much better than the shorties. Still learnimg. I downloaded a bunch of the off-road channels, but mainly use the GMRS to. Rugged Radios site has some info there on channels.

I was going to get a ham license but being restricted to 2m made no sense to me. I was looking for SHTF comms. The Baofengs work great for 2 way comms. The SSB CB can reach states away, and the Shortwave radio pulls in stations countries away.
