He ain't gonna be running again anyway. He probably doesn't want ss protection when he's out either which he loses if convicted by the Senate. Pension and all the freebies go away also.

Conviction by the Senate is a Constitutional requirement as is a separate disqualification resolution declaring him ineligible to hold office. See impeachment and conviction of fed judge alcee hastings. He became a Representative after Senate conviction and removal as a federal judge.

If it were as simple as a 2nd House Impeachment Nancy would have done that anytime after the 1st one.

I read somewhere that if he was impeached twice he was disqualified but you are right.
