I've never paid much attention to these military aircraft posts. Is this shit even real? It seems absolutely retarded to have any military movements so easily available online at any time ever.
Yep it's real. But they can turn off the transponders at any time and go off radar (like those 9/11 hijackers did).

Not that I support OP, but military aircraft are not required to squawk. For safety reasons they normally comply or mostly comply with FAA regulations. But they are in fact exempt.
That said, for budgetary and holiday reasons all military activity tends to slow come end of year and pick back up the second week of the new year.
Edit: not sure this means anything.
Govt budget year ends Sept 30th of each year.......the new budget year starts Oct 1st.
Now that I have more time, please carry the fulll context forward.
My information comes from people who actually fly and maintain aircraft in the US military. Maybe not a universal truth but it appears to be.
Toward the end of ther year there is always budgetary tightening. There is what is requested and what is actually funded. Most immediate disbursements are to contractors (because they now do most of the maintenance). Regardless, it takes time for every group to confirm their funding. If less, more time to adjust.
This pushes into holiday periods. Most traffic is training. Also, more paperwork and maintenance creeps in, slowing traffic. The result is military traffic falls off through November and begins to upswing the first week of January. Because of vacation, it's usually not back to normal until the second week or so of January.
Human factors are a big part of this. As you know, funding bullshit has taken place several times late last year. Both factors have significant impact.
I keep it on 24/7 for the last few days. Yesterday 147 military planes at the same time as today. Now just about 50 and most are near San Antonio Texas and Mobile Alabama. It takes a little time to load AND at the top right of the map PUSH the U >>the U shows only military. Hover aver any plane with your mouse pointer and it will tell you what type plane and give the spec's....
