Secretary Pompeo @SecPompeo

US government account

The storming of the U.S. Capitol today is unacceptable. Lawlessness and rioting -- here or around the world -- is always unacceptable. I have travelled to many countries and always support the right of every human being to protest peacefully for their beliefs and their causes.

But violence, putting at risk the safety of others including those tasked with providing security for all of us, is intolerable both at home and abroad. Let us swiftly bring justice to the criminals who engaged in this rioting.

America is better than what we saw today at a place where I served as a member of Congress and saw firsthand democracy at its best.

Mike Pence is saying the same thing, fwiw.

Mike Pence @Mike_Pence

The violence and destruction taking place at the US Capitol Must Stop and it Must Stop Now. Anyone involved must respect Law Enforcement officers and immediately leave the building.

Peaceful protest is the right of every American but this attack on our Capitol will not be tolerated and those involved will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

What violence? The cops/security shooting the unarmed woman?

Or was it the 20k people standing around doing not much?

Hey Pompeo, how many babies do you have to eat to get that fat ?

He is referring to Antifa

I hope so, but he also said that he "saw democracy at its best" during the Obama admin.

If it speaks like a slithering swamp creature...

Who were formally classified as terrorists this morning I believe.

"I served as a member of Congress and saw firsthand democracy at its best."

We should all wait for the organized state violence that awaits us all if we refuse their dictates. Communists commit atrocities, Communists kill people by the millions.

Arresting antifa is a bad thing? This wasn’t us, might be in the future but was not us today. Patriots need to hold the line. We are law abiding citizens

"yada, yada, yada..."

This seems pretty straightforward. Is he wrong to condemn lawlessness and rioting?

Something we would have liked to see from Dems this summer when their BLM & antifa thugs were peacefully doing their thing, huh?

Absolutely. My sense of right and wrong applies equally to both sides. Once the line of violence, lawlessness and property damage gets crossed, it is very difficult to make any kind of argument that you're fully in the right, so beyond being morally and ethically wrong, it's generally ineffective.
