When Trump was sworn in to office in 2016, everyone was assuming that the next 4 years was going to be somewhat "normal". No one assumed an active opposition to everything that he was going to do. Push back within the departments of justice, state and treasury and generally across the entire bureaucratic government. No one was considering that the DS was going to take out his appointments - like Flynn. No one was considering that the folks around him were going to recommend appointments that were in full opposition to him - and essentially there to serve as "speed bumps" in various way to anything and everything Trump does (behind the scenes). That his judicial appointments were essentially Federalist Society members who did not believe the same as Trump and would rule against him at a drop of a hat.
I listened to a recording yesterday by a woman who purportedly has proof/documentation on how the election fraud was carried out with folks over in Italy being actively hunted by US agents to wack. Folks in the White House actively working to ensure that the information does not get to Trump.
You can walk through the last 4 years and actually look at what has transpired and start to see the depth and magnitude of the swamp's activities arrayed at any and all responses. Nothing in the last 230 years even starts to compare. Actually, the swamp did an excellent job in turning everything he did against him one way or another. Masterful management of the moments woven into their entire strategic cloth designed to tie him down.
No one has nearly a full appreciation of the lengths to which these folks will go to. Actually when folks speak of taking a shot at the king - be sure not to miss, has been reversed against Trump acting against the swamp.
To date, no one has really been doing any critical thinking in having a strategic approach here. To date it has all been reactive in terms of Trump's activities. He did not take office with the support of anyone who was remotely capable of helping - other than Flynn and he was essentially neutralized from day -1.
Well said. I agree with everything in your follow up post. My objection is to the original post where the emotional and incorrect argument was made that 50 democrats joined by a couple of RINOs would remove the President.
It was made early in the morning before I went to bed. Having said that, keep a running roster of the republican senators who vote with the democrats. I think you will find that they will easily total more than 17, and this group would be the potential pool of senators who will vote to convict. If senators are more than willing to ignore wide spread systemic election fraud, they will have no problems voting to convict for impeachment.
Yes, I did post with a majority of 51, but I think that there are easily an additional 17 that would follow Romney and McConnell along with Thune and the rest. Also, the swamp/DS is out to kill off this movement once and for all. They will do just about anything now. The hatred of everything Trump will drive them to remove him in any way possible.
This is the swamp, deep state, the bureaucracy - what ever you want to refer to it as - at work.
For 50 years, I have worked in the future (bleeding edge) of technology. What I was doing every day 30 years ago, is just seeing the light of day now. When I retired a couple of years ago - my mistake was not thinking the current events through to any logical conclusion. My wife told me to put things down and to enjoy a bit of life (let's go to Alaska on vacation, etc.) I was taking the current events and applying the lens of the past. I was thinking relative short term tactically, not long term strategically. The post I made originally earlier this morning - will not be perfectly accurate with a high degree of precision, however in general, if Trump remains as POTUS, there will be obviously the open political warfare on all levels, but bureaucratic/administrative warfare never seen or even anticipated. That needs to be recognized. Pelosi will bring impeachment over Trump parting his hair on the wrong side - we have seen that late 2019 and early 2020. The virus may indeed have been real (to a degree), but its effect has been amplified and weaponized for the election and to crash the economy. The effect has been profound - and will be applied in every way possible to destroy (internally) this country in every way possible.
If Trump is not sworn in on the 20th, the democrats - either Biden or Pelosi (as a stand in, until a president is certified) will have all the knobs and levers that Trump has been putting in place, and will have little regard to their use and employment. If anything they will way over do their use.
If Trump is sworn in (or the 20th or later), he will have all the knobs and levers, but they will be disconnected or muted in every way possible.
Out of the box critical thinking is needed, so that we the people can at least have a fighting chance on a level playing field. We can not afford to be surprised ever again.
I fear that we have not seen anything yet....
