If you're not already, get into reloading. I'm still seeing components - not sure how long that will last, but they are still on the shelves now.
I think I'm good for about two years of regular range trips (1 per week, on average), but it's a consumable resource. You have to train. I'm hoping this lasts no more than a year.
But, it sounds like none of the manufacturers are really looking at ramping up capacity. The last slump has them gun shy... er, if you pardon the expression.
Reloading components have been sold out here for about 7 months and I refuse to refresh sites 300 times an hour to catch something online.
Crazy. I suspect they will address the ammo shortage first (whenever the hell they do that) and components will follow after. So, when those dry up, they might be gone a while.
Patriot, major problem was the shut down all the factories with this Scamdemic. and I agree, everything is flying off the shelves, good luck for anyone looking now.
Good luck finding 209 primers. Modern muzzleloaders use them as well, that season is going on now, and there are no 209s' to be found locally.
