It seems ironic: She physically punished her children for not obeying her orders, then the police went to arrest her for that, and she did not obey their orders, so they physically punished her, and this time it was perfectly legal.

I've thought this many times in the past several years, but I have a big interest in Jungian psychology, and if you read material about the archetype of the Great Mother, you'll find that a lot of ancient religious cults worshipped a cthonic feminine (as various kinds of symbols for nature and fertility). One aspect of this symbol for the feminine was that she was capricious and liable to turn on a dime from the nurturing mother figure into the 'consuming mother' who eats her own children, kills her men, and basically introduces pure chaos into the system.

The more I am seeing what the intentional 'liberation' of women is doing, by extricating them from regular patriarchal systems, the more I am realizing why ancient peoples understood the feminine this way.

This mother is literally harming her own children because her loyalty is not to her own nurturing instincts, but to appeasing some far-off, faceless authority. This is why the male is so integral to the family unit. A woman always has a loyalty to an authority. It will either be to her husband, or to the State (in our case). She will always serve the most powerful authority, and with contempt she will consume anything around her to protect her status with respect to that new god. She will even consume her own children, or send them off for consumption and sacrifice.

We're in fucking trouble.
