It's not a hazardous waste product. It was used as insulation for a very long time very recently it was discovered to be present in Baby Powder. The only reason it is being removed and is considered hazardous is because of the size of the micro particles that it sheds. If you breath that shit it gets stuck in your lungs and can lead to cancer.

I am getting board with your retardation. It's treated as hazardous due to the micro particles, as described above. When it is being removed it is considered waste just like any construction tear down.
