I don’t trust Pence and never have. He fit right in with the senate swamp, he was good friends with Jeff Flake who I know as an Arizonan myself, Flake was rotten to the core.
Pence wanted Flynn fired. He's a black hat.
Military is the only way.
Don't wind it up yet. This is how it is supposed to work. Would not have got the desired outcome if he agreed to the lawsuit.
This may be a move to get an election related case into the SCOTUS. Win or lose, this case will almost certainly end up in the SC.
What happens from there is hard to guess. But I am cautiously optimistic that whatever happens, the democrats won't like it.
Pence is going to be the shot heard around the world. He chose being shot they countered with publicly.
The United States is bankrupt. Pence is getting out of dodge.
Been bankrupt since the 30's
Our debt to GDP was ~50% in 2000, now it is roughly 130% if I remember correctly. The federal reserve is struggling to keep the charade up therefore they are instigating a reset or in other words a default.
Where is the power to choose which slate of Electors is opened? The 12th Amendment says he is to open all certificates in front of the full Congress. The 3 USC ch. 1 secs. 1 thru 21 laws say the same but grants power to Congress, not the Pres. of the Senate to object debate and potentially reject votes.
My purpose is to let people know that he really doesn't have the power to do what is being demanded so they should not get pissed off when he doesn't exercise a power he does not really have. Also maybe get the people pushing the idea to look in the mirror and realize they are demanding an act of tyranny by 1 person instead of that act being sanctioned by our entire representative body. Think about it.
Article 2 US Constitution
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors
The basic gist of it is that mail in ballots have a procedure written by the state legislator, most important of which, the voter has to request one. The governors issued executive orders to send mail in ballots to EVERYONE. Pence just doesn't open those states which are contested. Fuck who ever cries about it.
So what has been the point of the lawsuits and evidence gathering if it is simply up to the President of the Senate? The President of the Senate is not the judge of elections. You'll see his power is to be a letter opener, an announcer, a maintainer of order and to make sure the parliamentary rules are followed. People are going to be sorely disappointed when this non granted power of election overseer judge and jury of ballots is not exercised.
See my reply above Patriot. You are basically right about the duties of the President of the Senate. It will be the House and the Senate that return both Trump and Pence tto the White House for 4 more years.
You are correct Patriot. It will be the House after a member stands up and contest the electoral certificate(s) from the list of states and one member of the Senate who must do the same. The joint session is adjourned and each chamber retires to it's respective floor. A debate takes place and at the end of that debate if a solution is not arrived at, the House will move to a vote. Each state has one delegation. When the new congress is seated on the 3rd, the republicans will have a 30-20 majority of state delegations. The House elects the President and the Senate elects the Vice President. I believe the VP is selected by a majority vote in the Senate, Pence as the President of the Senate can cast his vote in the event there is a tie. When all is said and done, POTUS will be in the White House for the next 4 years. This act by Congress is NOT reviewable by any court, including the SCOTUS. Doesn't mean the democrats won't try though. We all know how they do.
My friend it ain't that easy. You need to see 3 USC. ch. 1 sec 15 16 & 17. When objections are raised properly as you stated: each house debates the votes objected to. The list of Electors turned in at the dec 8th deadline (3 USC ch. 1 sec. 6) are the original votes from each State. When those are objected to and debated this is the result> Both houses sustain the objection by majority roll call votes (not State delegations) the original votes are rejected and replacement (2nd slate) votes are counted. If each house does not sustain the objections, 1 says yea the other nay, then the original votes will be counted. If both houses say nay to objections the original votes stand. The only way it gets to a House of Reps vote to elect the President is if no person receives 270 votes after the objections are settled. I have not seen any language in the Constitution nor laws that permits not counting any votes from any State. Either their sec 6 list is counted or the 2nd slate is counted. Either way 538 votes will be counted. Unless my painstakingly researched book "The Electoral College for Patriots" by Town Crier is incorrect. I can only hope and pray that is the case, but I fear not. Sorry for the long post but there is no quick way to say we are probably in trouble in this process.
