It is almost as if Mitch got cocky and tipped his hand and Trump responded, and now suddenly, Mitch is a little more supple. News now, it's like reading the entrails. But POTUS is not going gently into the good night--all his actions back this up. This is like the 2016 election times 1000. Good to see you, Mac!

I have had more time to think about what old swamp rat Mitch is up to. He is calculating, so what is he doing? Could McConnell be trying to negatively influence the GA Senate runoff?

McConnell could care less about Trump or us. Why is he putting forward a bill that he knows is going to fail and at the same time piss people off? He knows that Patriots are already threatening to not show up to vote for Republicans. Is this move an attempt to further stir the pot with those people still on the fence about which side they will vote for? Is McConnell trying to knock them off the fence on the side of the Dems?

He thrives on power. Believe it or not, being the leader of the minority in the Senate is a much more powerful position for him to negotiate from. Most actions passed by the Senate still requires 60 votes. By being in the minority, and having a handful of corrupt Senators in his back pocket, he will negotiate for what he wants from the majority that needs the votes of his corrupt Senators to pass their legislation.

In addition, by losing control of the Senate and with Trump in the WH, he will severely cripple Trump with appointments - that is what the DS wants. Trump will have a lot of trouble moving anything forward. Also, all the Senate investigations come to a halt - one of the reasons people like Lindsey waited till the last minute to start some hearings.

Am I right? Time will tell. I do know that future actions are often dictated by past behavior and Mitch is a swamp rat with a long history and obvious connections to the CCP. I actually hope I am wrong for the sake of the country - but sadly, I don't think I am.

Well, I meet someone even more cynical than me. How Machiavellian. But it does suit; he is a master politician and far more attached to power brokering than I can probably imagine. Some of what we're clearly seeing is fallout within the Republican party--it's more than RINO--it is the entire neo-con, pro military industrial complex structure that is on the line and fighting it out with the populists lead by Trump. Undoubtedly Mitch also has some Chinese money pouring into his coffers. Just read that Perdue has had to go into quarantine (really odd how many pols get this flu--think someone just handed him some money to back off?)

Do I think Mitch would position himself for success regardless of his position? Yes.

Whole situation reminds me of the novel Red Harvest. In the end the Op sets all the warring factions against one another and they kill each other off. This is how the Op planned it but he knows he's only bought himself a small window of time before more cockroaches set up in town. There will always be cockroaches--but the question is, can we rid DC of enough of them to survive as a Republic?

Glad to see you here friend. I think your assessment of what is taking place behind the cameras and away from public scrutiny is spot on. Populism on both sides of the isle is going to rule the day and I think we are witnessing the death throes of both establishment parties. They have been in their DC echo chambers for so long they have underestimated how pissed off people really are. I think they wrongly assume that the Trump train and the AOC socialist movement are passing fads and that given some time, after their guy is seated in the WH, everyone is just going to pack up and return home to their sofas to watch the lastest reality show while eating neuron killing junk food.

You are correct about old snake in the grass Mitch positioning himself for which ever outcome after Jan 20. He has been around too long not to know how to survive political wind changes. And, you are most certainly right about CCP money. I said before the election that they were going to let him keep that seat in exchange for undermining Trump. Sadly, I think I may have been right.

Happy New Year friend. May the Almighty bless you and yours thoughout the next year and all that follow.
