You can see a cop car blocking the far end of the street (before the explosion). You can also see a cop car in the reflection of the window (with it's headlights on and the blue flashing lights)....where the cop walks out of frame. Also, some anon said that street is "one way." Don't know if that's true, but in the video, you can see two cars on opposite sides of the street both parked heading the same direction...but the RV is parked heading the opposite way.
In the released body cam footage, you can hear the RV "message" saying "...your primary objective is to evacuate these buildings now...." Primary objective? There is another sentence after that...that I cannot make out. Can anyone make it louder and isolate?
The cop walking down the street says that the ATT building was a good place for a bomb...etc. Not to mention the cops making sure no one is around and the homeless guy is cleared out. So, if they "knew" it was a "real" bomb, they wouldn't be walking down the street, the bomb squad would be there, along with the FD.
If it was an "exercise" going live (to me anyway) that makes more sense. This has stank all over it.
My thoughts exactly, the cops hear, "BOMB" and they do not call in the bomb squad or whatever the hell? I dig evacuating, but seems walking around on the street as if the recording was accurate was very .....trusting.
Supposedly they called the bomb squad 30 minutes before the explosion, but they hadn't managed to arrive yet.
You know, you've gotta finish your coffee, find your favorite pair of diagonal cutting pliers, find the right pair of socks for the occasion, find the damn keys for the truck, and fight your way through the tough traffic at that hour. Not to mention, waiting on good ol' Leroy to finally show up so you can all leave. He's the only one who remembers whether it's red wire or blue wire so definitely have to wait on him.
And the cop with the bodycam felt confident enough to stroll right past that RV blaring its warning (supposedly, I don't know actual source) without changing his stride at all or even turning to look, just not worth even a look don'cha know.
It is bizarre.
