Most processed food is unfit to eat. My mom used to say that as far back as when I was a kid. Even the packaged meat isn't what it used to be. GFanon bought a piglet last spring, paid a farmer to raise it as all natural grain fed, packaged this fall. Quite a difference from the store bought pork. Same with beef, we can get locally raised beef here. Fresh seafish. We haven't found a good poultry source yet.
Patriot, thank you for sharing, you know when you but broth, get the one that costs a little more with bone broth, we were hunter gatherers until reservations, and even you r people in Europe and around the world we all cooked stews with bone in them , this takes 24 hours to get the values and nutrition by cooing them, but have collagen and many minerals needed for good health, please research. for the health benefits, the old one knew . I remember soup bones being sold, no longer see them. do the research and let your family benefit from the health benefits. I never stopped eating eggs because the real nutrition is in the yolk. I am no doctor or paly one on TV, but check Dr Mercola and the health benefits, you will see what they had recommended is all for failure , just like their veggie crap, no way you survive or have stamina to survive Dakota winters without meat and fat in your diet, those who teach survival training, protein is important to survive and have energy, vegetables will not do it. Even the MRE have over 20000 calories, and you should eat three, why that many calories because the Military knows what you need to take in to fight and remain strong, they want you weak and sick. please check it out, do not take my word for it, research this and decide for yourself. check this out, have been using this for years, but when I take this, I take probiotics of 70 Billion for good gut health. because this kills all bacteria and viruses reportedly, so i take probiotics to maintain good gut health. never took a flu shot and never had the flu ? My mother back in he day had the flu, felt the spin cycle knew next day was bad, told her to take one one, she felt like new person that morning waking up ? surprised me, my dad refused and suffered for days till he got better. appears something is working and natural, they removed the link, but a University tested oil of oregano, and were shocked that in one hour the oil killed 99.1% of the H1N1 . now why are they hiding this other then Big Pharma.

Yes, the packages of soup bones of a bygone day! They were cheap too. Lots of marrow. Slow cook them in a stockpot to make the base for a beef stew. Give the bones to the family dog, watch them reappear around the yard over the course of a couple months.
I'm all for making meals from scratch. Heartier and more filling, stays with you longer. Simple starch like rice leaves you hungry in a couple of hours. Potatoes last longer but squash, especially the winter varieties seem to last the longest. Fat is necessary for warmth in the cold climates, I'm in northern new england and it gets cold and sometimes damp here. My cabin at 2000ft elevation in the appalatian mountains gets down to -35° at night often in the winter (I'm an avid snowmobiler though I haven't been out as much as I used to ride in the last few years). We'd start off with about a 4000 calorie rich breakfast before taking off for a +/-300 mile day ride. My ancestry had a few loggers from generations ago, you know they could eat! My dad used to tell me my Great Grandfather on his mother's side made it through the depression virtually living on salt pork, potatoes and onions. Not my idea of fun but survival was the goal.
Thank you for sharing this Patriot, And we can see the old ones ate healthy and knew what it takes to survive. And what you shared is another example of how important food and nutrition is.
