Viruses are a natural population control mechanism, it is biologically impossible to gain generic immunity, let alone an instant one. The only way to lower risk is to keep your immunity high. And even that is merely statistical, since viruses continuously mutate - so one is guaranteed to eventually get impacted, sooner or later. This is life, and it is normal. Just do what you can to keep your chances high, and you may last longer. And no "millions" are at risk. Or rather, all of us are - but that is no news. Life is a sexually transmitted disease, with inevitable lethality built in.
