When Voat shut down, I was actually surprised by the waves it caused online, in terms of the number of articles written or posts made about it. I was kind of under the impression that after the Pao debacle back in 2015, Voat had just become less and less of a topic over the years. I was one of the people that always said, "Relax fags, nobody is watching what you do here (at Voat)."
We had been growing, at least at GA. And were getting known as one of the places where truth could flow like water. It turns out, almost everyone was lurking!
Voat’s Qrv, the awakening, and great awakening were all good aggregate sources of info and research in addition to 4chan/pol and 8kun/qresearch. This place feels good to me too, I’m starting to get comfy here. Will always continue visiting 8kun and occasionally pol for more direct info but poal is a very nice replacement for voat

Interesting point. I imagine the DS was watching, and was getting very worried about it.
We took a lot of fire. And they had to shut us down, and break us up. It may work against them, since we are taking our show on the road now.
