When Voat shut down, I was actually surprised by the waves it caused online, in terms of the number of articles written or posts made about it. I was kind of under the impression that after the Pao debacle back in 2015, Voat had just become less and less of a topic over the years. I was one of the people that always said, "Relax fags, nobody is watching what you do here (at Voat)."

Voat’s Qrv, the awakening, and great awakening were all good aggregate sources of info and research in addition to 4chan/pol and 8kun/qresearch. This place feels good to me too, I’m starting to get comfy here. Will always continue visiting 8kun and occasionally pol for more direct info but poal is a very nice replacement for voat

Voat was a great platform, if you could wade through the garbage. GA was filled with breaking, and inside info, and some great peeps! I also, spent too much time there. Mostly refreshing the feed, hoping for the BOOMS. Getting away from all that bullcrap, is cathartic. But the need for current events is even more critical right now. That probably explains why Voat was killed.
