It's a crime to report that Muhammed raped you in Bongistan. It's not a crime to give someone HIV in California.

Snowden, lol. Worked at the CIA as a security guard. Then works for the NSA as a system admin without an IT degree. Hell without any degree. That story doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
Think of it this way: they were spying on us before Snowden and they're still spying on us. The state deliberately told us what it was doing. The best way to control the opposition is to lead it.

Unjust laws require ignoring
Patriot, pretty clear, they created these laws to keep their violation of laws from being exposed, sounds more like DS insurance plan to protect themselves.
My opinion: yes and no. What he did was illegal, but he exposed illegal activities of the government.
It's a conundrum.
Exactly Patriot, he had to break a law to enforce a law, through exposure. Sort of like LE having to break the law by speeding to get to a location and stop a active shooter. They had to break a law in order to save lives.
His book reads like it was written by somebody else. Computer geeks just don't write like that. Too busy coding. Whoever wrote the book has done lots of other writing.
I suspect he was a double agent of some kind, with a mission to get closer to the Russians, but they kept him at arms length for that very reason, so if that was the plan it didn't work. Worth a try though. If he was actually giving away valuable secrets, he'd already be dead.

I believe he was a CIA hit job on the NSA, but he should be pardoned but not without question.
