That is happening here in the states too. A friend who was the Engineering director of a lighting company in NJ was laid off because covid this summer, NJ is in arrears on his unemployment checks (and extra covid stipend) by over $11K, months past due. They don't care. He tries to straighten it out and gets nowhere, one big circle jerk.

Ya, our government expects us to jump through hoops to get the stimulus check. I'm not going to bother. I have enough money saved up / coming in through disability to get by until this is all over.

I'm getting to an age where I could soon start collecting Social Security here. The extra monthly SS income will feel strange, I'll feel guilty collecting it. Damn, I can't believe I'm that old already! :o(

I used to feel guilty collecting disability, but then I realized that the only reason I had to was because of what the DS-controlled Canadian government put me (and many others) through, and how little it is to other taxpayers compared to what they allow the government to steal from all of us.

I remember when a loaf of bread cost about 25 cents. Now it's about $5. Who gets all that money? Not the person who grows the wheat to make the flour. Not the factory worker who runs the machinery to make the bread. Not the delivery guy who brings the bread to market. It's the fat lazy stockholder who doesn't do a lick of work for his dividends.
