Some people just don't understand optics.

If Mark Levin's ratings are through the roof as the article states, then he's an ideal candidate to use for managing the perceptions of what's going on.

Listen to Pompeo in other speeches. He knows damn well how involved China is in all of this.

If you haven't noticed (or you bought into the optics yourself), Trump has been creating the illusion that his administration is turning on him. Notice that it's all people who have been around for a while. Barr, Meadows, Cippolone, Pompeo, etc. People he has come to trust over time. People who know how to play the game.

Just wondering.... How many of them are becoming trusted by the DS? How much could they misdirect the DS through 'leaks' and off-the-record comments?

This is an information war as much as anything. Perception Management.

For a minute, let me compare Trump with Regan. Regan was Governor of California first prior to becoming President. He developed a trusted cadre of advisors and administrators there in California. Upon his election, Regan had a ready group that had performed for him that he trusted, that he could draw from to fill vacancies within the USGovernment.

Trump on the other hand, came to Washington DC, from his own organization. Now his company was not small - runs about 22K employees - but in a hotel organization, that really consists of a lot of hotel staff. Trump is noted for building "things" - yes, new hotels (note - a lot of his hotels are franchises, built, owned and run by others, with the Trump name on the front). Compare and contrast that with a company like Becthel - who is about twice the size, but really staffed by engineers and project managers - not standard labors.

Now, not criticizing Trump at all, but his experience did not require developing a deep and wide bench - then immediately going to Washington DC, the capital of backstabbing and government bureaucracy. The deep state used that as a weapon. The DS didn't have to issue marching orders, the entire organization just flipped into self-protection mode against the interloper.

Information warfare, and indeed any bureaucracy is going to protect its most important commodity - information and knowledge. Having Obama salt the government with his own folks, just intensified things.

Trump being met with the Flynn case just days into his administration, then the 2 year long Muller probe, followed by Impeachment and then the China Virus - is absolutely unprecedented in modern times. Everything was serially book-ended, back to back to back - all designed to take him out. Any one of these items/events would take out any normal individual. All of this was designed so that Trump really could not take effective control of the bureaucracy and the government.

Yes, Trump is still trying to find out who is loyal and who has ties to the DS, and in Washington DC - everyone has ties to the deep state.

You might be right, except for the fact that Trump has had access to the HAMMER ever since he took office, and this has given him the ability to monitor pretty much all of the top bad actors from that point on and know who they are, what they're planning, etc. This is how he stays ahead of them and has been able to lead them into one trap after another while he collects evidence against them.

It was undoubtedly the Chinese: "This is classic CIA-level misdirection from what was more likely a Chinese or, dare I say it, homegrown operation for the very purpose of blaming the Russians to tamp down the anger and confuse the MAGA crowd."
